Ignore your dog’s health and go to jail
When your dog looks at you with those puppy eyes, just begging for food. What do you do?
As dog owners, we all know it. We all know what we can give them and what we can’t. We know how much they’ve eaten and when they need to stop. We all know too many treats for dogs (and yes, even humans) are bad. But we do it anyway. Why? Because we love them and want to see them happy.
I am no different. In fact, I’m probably the least disciplined dog owner of all time, letting them sleep in my bed sometimes. Especially with food, I am a pushover. My rationale is that these dogs look forward to only three things life: your love, humping dogs, and eating. Seeing how the first two are limited by factors that they have absolutely no control or influence over, I figured food is one thing that they can splurge once in a while. That’s the rationalization (i.e. excuse), but that doesn’t mean it’s right.
With too much food and indulgence in weight while lacking in physical exercise, dogs (just like humans) can get overweight. Sure, I’m certain those people with fat, oops excuse my political incorrectness… people with “OBESE” dogs love their dogs just as much.
In London, apparently that love, or shall we say, lack of discipline for their dogs health and eating behavior can land you in JAIL:
Yikes. Either discipline your dogs or don’t go to England.
So I was thinking this HAS to be an English thing. Or is it? Check this out. This US dog owner fed this dog a consistent diet of BEER and DONUTS to this dog for YEARS:
For sure, this dog owner needs to go that English jail for “nutritionally” abusing his dog.
